Longer than Rope is a suite of compositions accompanying a speculative fictional narrative submitted as part of my PhD dissertation in 2021. It was created in response to the television series Steven Universe; the novels The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin, Parable of the Sower by Octavia Butler, and The Broken Earth trilogy by N. K. Jemisin; and Janelle Monáe’s Dirty Computer. Learn more about the project here.

bodies unfree (2018) is a sound essay created in response to the texts Freedom as Marronage by Neil Roberts (2015) and Citizenship from Below: Erotic Agency and Caribbean Freedom (2012). Combines archival research with music and sound composition to highlight tensions around same-sex sexuality and gender non-conformity in Jamaican public discourse and popular culture.

elsewhere (2018) is a sound essay created in response to the text Territories of the Soul: Queered Belonging in the Black Diaspora (2015). Combines oral history, archival research, and music and sound composition to explore the complexities of national belonging for same-sex-desiring Jamaicans in the diaspora.
